Tactical Springs LLC & Machine Gunners Lube™ was born out of a need to supply military & LEO operators with mission specific materials. While most companies in the business make similar "claims", none have created products with the specific needs of operators dictating design and performance, but instead, take off-the-shelf commercial grade or competition grade materials & re-pack for MIL or LEO use. Unfortunately most environments & conditions these operators work in are anything but commercial or competition grade. Admittedly, while important, the internal workings of your weapon are not as prominent in first impressions as high speed optics, suppressors & other "go fast" goodies. Seasoned professionals know that no matter how "high speed" the weapon, without functional reliability it can be useless. All of our products are designed based on specifically defined requests and feedback from operators, with extensive training and combat testing conducted prior to release. Our mission statement is simple to provide the highest degree in quality, certified & tested material to ensure consistent functionality in all conditions & extreme environments. Quite simply, after installing / using our springs, if you forget about us, we have done our job.

WHAT MAKES OUR SPRINGS UNIQUE?

All our springs are constructed from Certified Chrome Silicon wirestock to ISO 9001:2008 quality standards to withstand extreme heat and highly cyclic rate. The certification rating ensures a consistency in the parent material of 95%, which translates to repeatable consistency in performance & function. Certified Valve Quality Chrome Silicon wire is used in very high stress applications such as, NASCAR, Formula One, Moto GP & Pro Stock racing motor valve springs. It is not uncommon in some of these applications for valve springs to see 15,000,000 compression cycles in one race. It is this extraordinary capability that made Chrome Silicon wire the obvious choice in our spring production vs. music wire used in OEM springs and by most aftermarket competitors. In addition, all of our Chrome Silicon springs are heat treated, stress relieved, and shot peened in separate post winding treatments. We also treat each spring with a proprietary, deep-penetrating, Re-Micronized (to .3 Micron particle size), inhibited, Molybdenum-Disulfide(MoS2) formulation to eliminate 90% of all mechanical wear on the spring. The combination of materials & processes result in a loss of no more than 5% in spring efficiency. We take our extractor springs one step further in the form of Cryogenic Processing. This computerized, ultra low temperature process (-320°F) increases the strength & wear life of the parent material through a change in microstructure resulting in less retained austenite and more uniformity. Why cryogenics for the extractor spring and not our other springs? Due to the size of the extractor spring, high stress cyclic rates and asymmetrical temperature exposure, premature wear and or shortened spring life can occur. Cryogenics effectively combats these issues giving the spring a very predictable & uniform performance within the operation of the weapon cycle. Duty cycle of our buffer springs is in excess of 500,000 cycles. While we really don't know how long our extractor springs will last, round counts in excess of 120,000 ROUNDS (ongoing) are documented on a single extractor spring.

Extra-Power Buffer Spring, best option for 14.5" and 16" barrels with carbine length gas system platforms with standard front sight towers and H buffers, gas piston guns, and suppressed weapons. Color Coded RED.
Standard Buffer Spring, best option for all others, including most non-suppressed 7.5"-12.5" shorties, middy guns with adjustable gas blocks, 1st Gen M&P's, all Rock River Arms, uppers with light weight carrier groups (VTAC), etc. Color Coded BLUE.
Buffer is inserted into color coded end of spring for fast I.D. of installed spring by Operator.

MACHINE GUNNERS LUBE™

Machine Gunners Lube™ was developed to address specific requests from gun team leaders for a lube that would keep their machine guns properly lubricated during extended durations of full auto fire. Like most good gun teams, they work hard to stay on top of not letting the guns run dry. While many currently available lubes maintain lubricity when running "wet", some current war zone deployments do not favor traditional frequent and liberal applications, due to their propensity to attract fine desert silt particles, thereby increasing the risk of malfunctions. Our mission was to formulate a lube that would perform and protect weapon platforms in extreme environments subject to high heat, humidity, evaporative, and mechanical wear, even when applied lightly. Machine Gunners Lube™ meets these standards for all firearms ranging from handguns through .50 caliber machine guns.

Machine Gunners Lube™ is made from fully synthetic Group V base stocks. Poly Ester chains in Group V base stocks offer superior protection against thermal breakdown versus PAO's and GTL's, and contain significant natural solvent properties for self cleaning capabilities. In addition to minimizing carbon accumulation, the Poly Ester base oil acts as a water dispersant and corrosion inhibitor, protecting the lubricated parts in desert, jungle, and arctic climatic environments. Unique to Machine Gunners Lube™ is a proprietary re-micronized (0.3 micron) inhibited Molybdenum Disulfide (MOS2) component in colloidal suspension. In layman's terms, this means that the particles remain suspended within the lubricant, and do not segregate to the bottom of the container. Our inhibited MOS2 is specifically modified to retard, rather than induce corrosion. This moly component allows for a solid lubrication barrier in conjunction with the hydraulic lubrication afforded by the host synthetic lubricant. The re-micronized particles are small enough to penetrate the molecular lattice structure of the carbon, stainless, or chromium plated steel working surfaces of the weapon, where they are released under the heat of use to maintain the initial solid or "boundary" lubrication layer. No other moly additives on the market contain particles this small, nor do they share the unique ability to remain in colloidal suspension. Our proprietary manufacturing process allows the uniform distribution of the re-micronized MOS2 both within and upon the lubricated surfaces of the weapon. This ability provides a further advantage over other gun oils in the form of lubrication retention when the host / hydraulic lubricant is removed by mechanical, chemical, or environmental means. Basically, the weapon is still protected and has a functional advantage even when appearing "dry". The melting point of the MOS2 component is in excess of +2700°F !!!
